With its gritty 70s aesthetics, ticking time bomb protagonist, and shockingly violent final act, Taxi Driver inspires a discussion which touches on the film’s themes of loneliness and isolation, its connection to 70s revenge film Rolling Thunder, and why the film could very well be considered a part of the horror genre.
